Antarctica

Antarctica è un continente al piedi o alla testa del mondo, dipende dai punti di vista. Si dice tutto si abbia avuto origine da qui, dal ghiaccio. L'antartide è la madre di ogni continente e terra che noi conosciamo, situato nell'emisfero australe a sud del Circolo polare antartico e circondato dai mari antartici. Per convenzione il confine geografico è delimitato dalla cosiddetta convergenza antartica, la latitudine (circa 50° S) dove si inabissano le acque di superficie subtropicali. E' il luogo in cui terminano tutte le mappe e si incontrano tutte le rotte.
Il continente non è abitato da nessuna popolazione perennemente; ma nonostante ciò si contano, durante l'anno, tra le 1000 e le 5000 persone che risiedono nelle varie stazioni di ricerca sparse in tutto l'Antartide. Cosa spinge queste persone ad andare in posto come questo?
Werner Herzog nel so documentario "Encounters at the end of the world" ci parla di questo, di ciò che uomini e donne sognano e vivono in questa terra di ghiaccio.

Antarcticait's a continent at the bottom or at the top of the world. It could be feet or hat, depends on the point of view. Antarctica it's the mother of every country and land that we know; it's in the austral emisphere, south of the Antarctic Circle and surrounded by Southern Ocean. The geographical border is defined by the Antarctica convergence, latitude is 50° S, it's where all the maps end and where all the courses meet.
There are no permanent human residents, but anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent. What push people to come here?
